GREEN TEA

  • Green tea is a tea made from tea plant leaves (Camellia sinensis) picked and subjected to heating process to prevent oxidation, or it could also mean the beverages produced from brewing the tea leaves.
  • Green tea is a popular drink in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Middle East, Southeast Asia and increasingly known also in Western countries who used to be drinkers of black tea.


Who is not familiar with green tea? Apparently green tea is very rich in benefits, green tea comes from plants with species camellia sinensis. Since thousands of years ago, green tea has been known as a drink that has healing properties. Until now, research on green tea is still being done. High content of antioxidants such as cathecin and polyphenol make this tea can fight various diseases and has the following properties:



  • Maintain oral health
 We all know that tooth brushing is a way to keep oral hygiene. However, how is it possible to drink tea to help maintain oral health? Based on research, an antioxidant named catechin contained in green tea can help stop the growth of bacteria that cause gum problems and cavities.
  • Helps relaxation
 Theanin content in green tea is known to provide a calming effect when consumed. When you relax while sipping your green tea, be sure not to brew the tea in boiling water. Cathecin is very beneficial in green tea can be damaged in high temperatures. The temperature of 70-75 degrees Celsius is the most optimal temperature for brewing green tea.
  • Healthy for joints
 Some studies show that EGCG content in green tea may help prevent rheumatoid arthritis. One example is research conducted at the University of Michigan, this study shows that EGCG can stop the immune system producing molecules that cause rheumatism.
  • Helpful sleep
 Research shows that the antioxidants contained in green tea can help Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) sufferers. OSA is a condition that causes periodic breathing disorders while you sleep. This condition causes oxygen flow disruption to your brain. If left unchecked, these conditions can affect each other's learning and memory.
